Comp increase.!

So a few days before the crash i got some small-port pistons in the mail, with some brand-new piston rings.
So while the engine is out, im going to give it a good look over, and chuck these pistons in.
This should bump the CR (Compression Ratio) up to around 12.1
And with that ill probably have to chuck it back on the Dyno to get it tuned to suit..

Clean-Up

Another day in the Shed, this time cleaning up some bits on the car, and finished stripping the wrecked Rolla.
Everything is off, parts that are going to be kept and sold are in boxes.
A few good upgrades on the Fx, are the electric windows, central locking and Sun roof.
Should come in handy in the summer.
I also had to swap over the door locks as someone had tried to open it with a screwdriver.
So did this nice and tidily with cleaning the doors while the locks were out, and making sure the bolts would securely hold the handles.

Progress.

So today the Bigger brakes went on, lowering springs, and new sway bar links.
And as the brakes are to big for the Standard 14" rims, the 17s went back on.!

As for the wrecked body, the engine is out, gearbox is off, and most interior bits are out.
Just a few more bits and pieces need to come off and then it can go off to the scrappy.!

Strip down..

The strip out begins.!
Removing all the parts that could be kept and used in the future.
And changing over all the panels that are in better condition.
Should get a pretty tidy ae92 out of it all.!

Round 2..

Well i have Sourced another ae92 Fx-Gt.!

This comes in the form of a Automatic 1989 Ae92 Fx-Gt import, with a measly 220,000km on the clock.!
So the transfer begins!!
Will eventually get all the best bits off the old Fx onto this one.!

Heart-ache

Well this is a day to remember..

Walked away unscathed so very thankful for that!

Although Car is a ride off...

Running gear is all ok still, but shell not so much.

So the hunt for a rolling body is on.

Be prepared for Bigger and Better things to come!!

Gearbox Time.

So my Gearbox has been getting pretty worn out.
4th gear pops out, and theres so much slop and play its not funny.

So a second hand low km gearbox is on the way.
So while i wait out comes the old!

Project Low.

So for a while now i have been looking at the Rolla, wanting it to sit a little lower.
The rear just sits a little to high for my liking..

So i did some Photo-shopping and got it to look like this.. "Dream Lab"
But i dont think this is going to be very achievable, unless.... I go a and add Air-Bags into the mix.. Hm..

But the issue is having funds to go out and buy some Adjustable suspension..Or air bags..

So i decided to make my own..

For the Fronts i removed the Shock inserts from the casings, and then grinded off the spring seat marking where it was. And then measuring and marking down 20mm from the original position and re-welding it back into place.

And then for the Rears i took apart the top hats, and flipped the internal piece that sits on the top of the shock. So this means the shock sits further through the top hat, thus lowering it a little..
