Brake's!!

The next reason for shed time is the brakes!

I had been reading up on people swapping brakes from ae101 levin's onto ae82's and ae92's.
So i thought what the heck and sourced some twin pot brakes from a ae101 levin.

The rear ones bolted up with no issues.
The fronts were a different story.

Firstly the rotor that the Levin uses are to big to fit on the hub of the Rolla. So just swap hubs you say. Thats not possible either as they are super strut.
People usually get the standard Levin rotors machined down to suit. BUT the rotors were going to cost over $500 for 2.
So we sourced some smaller rotors off another corolla that would fit.

Secondly the callipers had been sitting in the rain a fair bit so they were seized/rusted.
We popped them out with the thanks to CRC and a air compressor. Once popped out we could tidy them up and get rid of the burs.
Back together they went and then installed onto the car..

Original Rear set to be sold on trade-me.

The difference in size, original Ae92 rotor, and new rotor.

Brakes were still sticking a bit.. :/

What a difference!
These brakes fell so much better than the standard 1 pots.

Here's the link to more information on the different brake upgrades possible.
